Rent the Runway

Copywriting, Script Writing, Interviews, Creative Concepting

This is what I like to refer to as my boot camp-like intro to the tech startup life. It was an intriguing time to be part of RTR as it shifted from being a party dress company to trailblazer in subscription retail and respected fashion industry partner. I contributed to the launch of Unlimited, the company’s innovative packaging, and two rebrands (within a year). I also learned the value in community and how to jump in regardless of your title. Below, a sampling of work from my time as copywriter.

The Guide

As part of its bid to become more than a sequin dress company, RTR adjusted its buying strategy to include higher-end designers, as well as everyday wear, and elevated its content production. I led copy on this monthly shoppable digital magazine, bringing my fashion writing experience from SELF magazine to craft language around trends, designer bios, and style tips.

The Shift

In collaboration with designer and art director Emily Frye, I helped name, launch, write for, and manage Rent the Runway’s blog, The Shift. The platform served as a space for storytelling about designers, behind-the-scenes moments, style tips, and branded content.

Marketing Emails

I was able to seamlessly bring my SELF magazine experience to drive meaningful engagement with emails, from building buzz around Unlimited (now RTR’s leading service) to trend breakdowns, how-tos, and insider access to designer ateliers.
